Although initially working in Graphic Design, Ann quickly reverted to Fine Art. She taught adult evening classes in painting and also at a Mental Health rehabilitation centre. Her interest in ceramics then became paramount, and after her first commission, began selling her work in several joint exhibitions.
In the 1980s she taught at Mid Cheshire College of Art, Northwich in the ceramics and print making departments, also assisting in courses for school teachers at Alsager College, a residential course in outdoor kiln building and firing and a residential course for Sculpture in Nature at Delamere Forest.
Later Ann moved to West Wales where she ran a smallholding, while continuing to make and sell her pottery and sculpture.
Moving to Gloucestershire, she concentrated more on painting and is greatly influenced by light and shade, and strives to capture either mood or emotion by the use of colour and pattern.
Ann has a studio in North Cerney, Gloucestershire, where she holds ceramics evening classes and weekend workshops in coloured clay making, raku firing and wire mesh sculpture.
She has taught master classes at Rose Hill School and short 4 week courses in ceramics for North Cerney School, and private lessons in sculpture.
Ann is a partner in The Thin Dog Gallery in Cirencester and is also a member of The Fosseway Artists.
